Yeah, Zachary never cared much about the Ophanim. He ate the seeds because he was told to, not because he wanted any sort of magic for himself. And he's too kindhearted not to want to rebuild. No one should live in a barn.

Zachary is meant to be a sort of...unwitting hero. Like, he doesn't believe he can lead these people. He doesn't believe he's cut out to be anything more than the irresponsible progeny of a genius family...who just happens to be good with a sword. It's why he turns to Constantine for help, which is where the trouble begins with those two. Because Constantine is, ultimately, not as great a man as Zachary could be.

It's the difference between their fear.

Constantine gets scared and puts up walls and defenses, Zachary gets scared but charges forward anyways.

Exactly. Constantine and Anatoli are both men who need to control everything to feel comfortable. And so they wrap themselves up in the comfort of their numbers and their administrative details. If those fail, they collapse. Zachary, on the other hand, is oblivious to this and just keeps going. Little Energizer Bunny that he is.

I mean it's started and I've yet to even look into it. Also I start working next week and will have significantly less time (at least for the first month) and so I gotta see how the campfire scene plays out. Make sure I can keep up ya know?

Hey I gotta quick question Beast. How are women generally viewed in this society? The character I have been thinking about is a hunter, pretty independent and self sufficient. Is that reasonable in this world?
