Ironically it looked like I survived November but have finally succumbed to the lurgy going round university. Thank god for tea and books.
I will hopefully be looking at RE sometime this week Q.

This is my caring face. *___*
Take your time. I didn't add to In Service expecting you to be able to deal with every campfire in a week. I added because I meant to start this thing after NaNo and, thus, it beginneth.
Also, I love that the NaNo forum is now the general hangout forum. We should probably go back to the individual campfire forums eventually.

Why? I think it's better to keep everything in one spot so I don't have to hunt it down. I like general hangout thread. > And I don't think I'm ready for campfires yet. I'm still writing my NaNo, lol. I'm itching to write something new and different though. I want a totally different genre. No demons, werewolves, vampires, or any of that. @_@ Anybody got some high fantasy madness or science fiction with spaceships?

Um...technically Sybeline counts as High Fantasy. It's just...darker High Fantasy. Just sayin'.
I like general hangout thread, too. But it is technically more organized to use each campfire thread for each campfire. It's actually easier to keep track of that stuff. Aha! Didn't think of that, did you? *waves a saber like Zorro*
YAY...? Sorry, Royal news is meh. I'm glad they're pregnant, but...she...I'm just gonna come right out and say it. They better have Doctors on her like white on rice. Girl does not have the build for easy childbirth. I hope this doesn't end in a sad story.

I'm not a very organized person so lack of organization doesn't really bother me all that much. xD

I have everything I've ever written in a file called "Stuff". It's in alphabetical order and I know where everything is. That's the extent of my organizational skills.

On my computer I have all my writings separated into folders for every campfire. But I never know which order they're in. To this day I still don't know which of the documents is first in my NaNo from last year. lol Oh yeah. We're so organized.

Woo! Organization FTW!
I want campfires to moooooove! I still want to be writing, I just don't want to work on Eve. It's sooo close to being done, but I just...right now I don't want to work on it. Problem is, it's a work that I developed with tons of thought and effort, but not really any inspiration. I think that's probably why I don't love it as much as some of our campfires.
That and writing by yourself is no fun.

I don't know what to do for campfires right now. I'm kind of like "uhm... maybe I should work on X some more."

Is it just a matter of lack of inspiration, or a matter of not knowing where to start?

Do you want to put someone ahead of me for In Service then? I'll understand if you want stuff up and rolling more quickly.
RE has just entered the type-up-to-computer stage.

Nah. You're good, love. I'm patient enough and I still technically have a novel to finish drafting. It's like clockwork every year. I finish NaNo and I don't want to write a single thing for this damned novel. Why can't I seem to love it like I do campfires? It's like I save my best stories for y'all...

Mostly it's a lack of inspiration. Whenever I quit something and try to come back to the same character, it's always different. I wasn't in the same frame of mind when I made that character so it's difficult for me to try and take that character somewhere.

It's something similar for me. Eve was something I created from scratch. I wasn't inspired, I sat down and created the idea intellectually. So instead of being something organic, it was very much a fabrication. And the problem is, the characters don't exist in my head. Mia lives in my head. I can stop writing for her for months and, without a thought, pick her up again. Lyn...not so much. I know how she would react to things...I think. Lucifer, I understand. I know how he would react. He's a bit of a Paladin. Which is what makes him interesting, as Lucifer is supposed to be evil. Hermes is funny, but he's also worried about his people. I think...I think I need more drama. But this isn't really a dramatic story. It's a philosophical one.
Is that good enough? Is a really interesting philosophy enough to drive a story? Dunno...

I got X and a lot of others down. But when it comes to campfires, most of my characters are made on the fly so I have no clue what I was thinking or where I was going with it.

It's the same for me and campfires, but I think having other people act and react really helps me flesh out my characters. Which is pretty much what Matt said. When I write, it's all in my head, so my characters react to things the way I would have them react. Sometimes the addition of an additional person is what makes a character more believable. I am so going to need Matt's help editing this novel...

Unfortunately that doesn't really work for me. If I don't remember what I had in store for my character or I can't get back into them, I lose interest. Writing with other people is fun and helps me like my character more, but if I create a character I really like and then for some reason a campfire doesn't move for a while, I go away and pretty much never come back. >_>
