Is there a reason this thread doesn't exist?
Also what's happening? My life is in chaos again?

Hey. It didn't really exist 'cause only three of us in this forum are actually in the damn thing.
But what's happened is Wolfie has disappeared and Ascetic is apparently dying of multiple illnesses and life crises. Hopefully he adds soon--I am giving him a little extra time due to exigent circumstances. But if not, I will skip him again and hope he adds eventually. And continue to write for Charon until he is back.
Also, I'm a little miffed Wolfie went and disappeared without even a note. I worked very hard to bring her character in to the inner circle, darn it. Has anyone seen her? Is she alive?! I hope she's not dying of life crises like Ascetic...

Wait does that mean we've lost both of the Banners?
I don't mind picking up some of the slack if you're a tad swamped with three major characters to play with. Why not ask if any of the others who ARE part of this forum want to join?
Could use some Russians and Irish to join in too.

I have sent Wolfie several emails and she hasn't gotten back to me. My guess is she got sucked into the RP she was in on Tumblr and disappeared. I know she was quite obsessed.
I feel bad for dropping out. Would you like me to come back and try again? Y'know, after November. n_n;;

Someone get her back! Without her, there are only three major writers for this...plus Ascetic, if he ever comes back to life for longer than it takes to tell me that he's alive and working on it. Right now, I'm trying to handle Mia, Edward, and Charon. Handling Colt, too, might be a little difficult. And half of Phelps duties, of course. Not to mention we need the Russians and the Irishmen.
I would love you back, Mynt. If you still want to after November, I will of course take you on again. Alas, Eli is a little...deadeded right now. But there will likely be a number of fun and exciting characters to take over for. Or you could come in as a new member of the alliance. Someone they rescue, or something.
Now, if we all want to chat, I'm cool. What would everyone like to chat about? I mean, we've got a lot of the character stuff figured out. We should probably work on developing the actual plot, though. I was thinking of maybe trying to take America back since the rebellion relies so thoroughly on the black market out of the US. Like trying to infiltrate Omega Station Optimus Prime (I haven't figured out what to call it yet.) What do you guys think?
What were your plans with the Russians, Matt?
Also, as for the Omega stations, they go like this: Omega Station Optimus Prime in Chicago, United States Omega Station Megatron in Tokyo, Japan (along with Optimus Prime, the two biggest stations--everything ultimately goes through one of these stations)
-Omega Substation North in Middle-of-Nowhere Scotland, moved to Reykjavik, Iceland after infiltration during final days of Oxford -Omega Substation East in Shanghai, China -Omega Substation West in Lima, Peru -Omega Substation South in Cape Town, South Africa
And then there are local Regional offices all over the place. Once per state, province, county, etc. depending on the size of the country. Places like Lesotho or Belize have one for the whole nation, of course.
But I think I've made up enough stuff now.
Thoughts? Omega Substation Central in Geneva, Switzerland

That's all right, you know I was having problems connecting and writing for Eli anyway. I don't think it helped that Wolfie introduced him instead. @_@ So I'd be cool with making a new character. I think I'd pick up for a girl character seeing as how Mia looks like the only female. lol. So she can totally be rescued.

That post seriously posted out of order. I have no idea why Geneva posted at the end of my post.
Another girl might be good. We do seem to have a disproportionate amount of men now that Paige has died.

We should all figure it out as a group. This really is a collaborative effort. Especially Matt, as we kept Renegade going together when everyone else disappeared for a while.

Yeah well that's because we've got two characters that are pretty much addicted to one another - talk about dependencies.
It would be fun to have a Mynt on board again =)
Could you make her an Irish? Or a Russian? ha ha. No worries if you'd rather not. I'm still playing with all of them like they're toy dolls right now.
The Irish: as a nation loath Omegan rule. They fought for hundreds of years for their own independence only to have their world taken over by alien scum and they're not happy about it. A great many of the Irish are part of the rebellion, in fact it's hard to find any 'loyalists' since most of those that do support Omega are efficiently disposed of. This said, they're also the masters of dissembling and have protected themselves from the worst excesses of Omega by becoming a nation like Oxford - with a visible and invisible world. They were much better at it than Oxford ever was. They give the illusion of being fairly unstructured but there's several factions. 1. Sewer Rats who went underground. Most of these are front-liners too - fighters, saboteurs, dissemblers. Each subgroup in the Rats has six members and no more as they infiltrate the under-cities such as Dublin and such. They also carry messages across the nation. 2. Yeatsians - so called because they live over-ground in full view of the enemy but meet under the guise of poet lovers, they swap blackmarket items through these meetings and also trade information between international parties. 3. Caers - they live in the castles, usually decoders, filers, hackers etc - mostly mechs. Over the last few months many more of the Rats have returned to the castles, including Blaerney because of the perceived beginning of the war.
The Irish have a committee that leads their part of the rebellion and each member of the committee has a team of about 5 that then looks after teams of around 20. So by the end one committee member has control of around a hundred and five people. One such committee leader is Denny's mother - Caoilfhionn (pronounced CAY-LIN), her seconds are Paddy, Max, Johnny-M, Wheck and Fiona. Only Paddy and Max have been with her since the beginning of her time on the committee. She's one of three committee members in Blaerney. Other committee members are Algor Hogg and Randall Buccleuch (BUH-CLUE). Being a second is not like being less senior, it's just a method of structure. All committee members and seconds are considered within the same bracket of their hierarchy.
The Russians are much more covert than any other nation, though like the Irish are famous dissidents after they attempted their own rebellion around thirty years ago - it never made progress as the mass army they gathered became too vocal. For the following fifteen years anyone considered a threat was sought out and murdered. This was when Laras' father was crippled and his mother slaughtered. Every member of the Russian faction now has a code name, including Laras himself as a recruit sent to Oxford by his father.
His father is known as The Raven, his lethal and terrifyingly loyal second is The Thunder, the man that first trained Laras before he attended Oxford. The Thunder is not much older than Laras, maybe seven years and the two were fierce companions, although would never consider the other a friend. These two are going to become key in Rebel Earth as Laras' father is one of the most senior in the Russian rebellion.
More to say I'm sure. I'm just not as good at the giant explanandum as our esteemed Quaddy.
Also don't you love it when you go back and read through things and you're like... yeah that's fucking brilliant? I just reread Renegade. Phoar.

I could try being Russian or Irish but those are nations I know nothing about and research is one of my weak weak points. Also I'm making a character in a different campfire Russian, I think I would have to go with Irish. My brain is a simple machine that would try to combine the Russian characters. n_n;;

You're plenty good at the compendium, Matt.
(Oh dear God, our characters *are*codependent...)
Whatever you wanted to do, Mynt, is fine by me. Technically, though, America is out...since I just killed everyone except Colt. Whom I'm hoping doesn't have to become another one of "my" characters.
Also, at some point, Mia is definitely going to mutter "nevermore" around Laras' father. Mia has a very irrational reaction to people messing with Laras...especially if they're not her. So making fun of the crippled Russian mastermind is definitely something she would do. Stupid, but Mia was ever the passionate one.
Renegade is pretty good, isn't it? Especially for a campfire. We really kept it together there. Moved it a little quickly, obviously, but it is a campfire.
So...everyone down with the "take over Optimus Prime" idea? I was thinking that mostly everyone dies in the operation (which people kind of knew--they figured taking over Optimus Prime was worth it), but Laras is supposed to come and get Mia out of it, right? That was the plan, Matt? They fight, he refuses to acknowledge they're together together, she sleeps with someone else, he storms off, she decides to go on the suicide mission to prove herself (again, not smart, but definitely Mia), Laras comes back and realizes what she's done and so goes off to get her out of it, etc? That was the plan, yes?
But, yeah, even though the mission was technically a "failure", I was thinking that one of our Irishmen--Max (the one currently with Charon, yes?)--actually manages to get in and assimilate. So he becomes a true double agent within Optimus Prime. So while the story ends up a "shit, we are so going to lose this war" moment, there's actually a bit of hope in that Max can start sending them information and stuff.
Anyone think it's cool? Stupid? Ideas from anyone else?
(Tada obviously survives, too. Main characters only die if their writer wants to try something else and/or leaves. Also, if Wolfie doesn't come back, Colt gets sentenced to time with Laras.)

Glad you approve, oh mighty queen of chat. And yessssss that is what we had planned. Is it an everyone kind of dies thing internationally or nationally though? America's factions are already pretty buggered but are they all going down?
Another thing we could add into that might be that Laras does head off to Russian when he leaves Mia, so maybe the Russians are like 'we're not going on a mission like that, it's suicide, we have our own plan' kind of thing and maybe RE.3 includes them playing their hand. I want to keep the Russians as a sort of uncertainty factor - no one quite knows or trusts them because they're so covert and closehanded. The other thing to think about is time scale. Is all this going to happen over months or years? I think that's an important thing to keep an eye on.
Other than the name though, I'm down with the suicide mission being to take down optimus prime. Can't believe you're chavving off beast wars/transformers. Also I'm getting fond of Denny, he's not dying in this one. I have plans for him.
And yeah man, Colt can be an adoptee if necessary.

Lol yeah I'm riding this out with Tada. I started some stuff with the American family that lost their daughter and i'm gonna work with that but it's more of a civilian view of the war than anything. I have nothing seriously important planned for it (important to the main cannon that is). Paige could use replacing but I'm already working in Jess as Tada's new interest but I'm sort of in coin toss territory as to whether to kill her off with the other group or have her turn back halfway through and go to Blarney. If she does I know that's going to start off rocky as hell.
Anyway, main plot wise how would all out characters fit into their niche for Operation Allspark? I know Tada would be doing some planning and stuff but are we wanting his sleeper cell stuff to come out to the resistance before then or not until the last of the trilogy?
AND ANOTHER THING I can make a Russian if you guys want me to. Just lemme know what role i'm trying to fill and i'll wiggle my way in on that one. So far I've got Tada, Jess's group (not for long), General Gyle, and and Mr. Glenn Tyde. Yeah, I can add a Russian to the mix.

I think I would totally do a feisty Irishwoman then. Unless I could do some character that totally slipped under the radar after her faction was completely annihilated and isn't properly noticed until she makes it to Ireland where she could be rescued. What type of character are you guys in need of? I saw a lot of fancy words in Matt's text wall like hacker, decoder, dissembler stuff. Tell me what you need and what they do. I can builds a character around that.

They're not actually called Optimus Prime and Megatron, I just haven't come up with names yet. Alpha and Omega are out, given that Omega is called Omega...Prime and Muy Importante are out. I just haven't come up with a "these are the two most important bases Omega has on Earth" name yet.
I imagine this takes place over a few months--maybe a couple of years. And RE3 is, perhaps, a few years more. So, Mia starts out at 21 and she ends up 27-28? Something like that.
Let's also keep in mind that we need people from all over the place. This is a worldwide rebellion. So we need to make sure that, even if our characters are more limited (English, Russian, Irish, American, Middle Eastern if we keep Shlomi alive, OMG we need someone black...), we're covering the whole damn world.
Seriously...we need someone black...

OK, so...we have:
1) Two Fighters (Laras and Mia...perhaps Colt) 2) Strategy master (Tada) 3) A spymaster (Charon) 4) A dissembler (Phelps--though, admittedly, he isn't going to be much use now, so...dissembler is cool.) 5) Various and sundry computer people that don't get written for.
So...we could use a dissembler to replace Phelps, now that Phelps is out of commission. And we're always good for more spies, since Charon is mostly bound to HQ these days.
A dissembler is kind of like an undercover spy, only ten times more infiltrate-tastic. Basically, they have to literally become another person--their mannerisms, their movements, their favorite phrases, etc. And they wear what is called a cloak, which is a little device that makes someone look and sound exactly like someone else (whomever the chip is programed to look like). It's why watchdogs exist--they short out cloaks.
Spymasters just do typical spy stuff. They infiltrate as themselves. Usually, they are knowledgeable not of a single person, but a broad range of languages, customs, histories, etc. So while a dissembler is there to take over a single person and usually for a very long time (like the dissembler pretending to be Mia in order to convince Omega that Oxford was a real school), spies usually are there for more short-term information gathering.
So, I think perhaps a spymaster or a dissembler would be fun. Someone to maybe be Phelps' right hand while he recovers...maybe even someone who respects him, but wants to take his place? I think I'm going to make Colt a bit of a "kill them all and sort it out" type in order to piss off Laras and Mia (provided that Wolfie doesn't come back), so we really don't need one of those.
Ooo, I have an idea. If you are more comfortable writing for an American, your character could perhaps be a dissembler in one of the American Regional offices who wanted to get out before they found out about her. So she made her escape and ends up getting pulled in by a scouting team out of Canada. One of Blarney's little computer nerds (perhaps Denny) sees that they've picked up an American and brings it up to Charon, who has her brought to Blarney.
Works well with Plan Autobots Roll Out.

Thank you. Those are good roles, I think. I could do either of those. I kind of like the idea of being a spy because that would force my character to be ten times more careful than being a dissembler, I think. But on the other hand, she could definitely blend in more easily and have less fear of being found out. Ooh now I'm having ideas and stuff and I kind of need to simmer down. Spy is my favorite I think but I could definitely work with either or with no complaints. I will probably need some of these things explained to me because I don't have the benefit of years of inside knowledge. n_n;; But I like the idea of her being undercover in a facility then having a tip that she might be discovered soon and taking the opportunity to escape.
