Actually...I kind of want to rub it in a little...
It's nighttime now, so...*enjoys the 60 degree weather in the Glades*
But earlier was...*enjoying the 75 degree, blue-skied, slightly breezy weather in the Glades*

So... Sandy's not that bad? It looks pretty bad. I was in Irene and she was girly. Sandy looks like the next female cage wrestling champion from where I'm standing. No?
And Laras won't die, don't even fret about that. Even if I had no fingers I would type up RE additions with my nose.

Their infrastructure was not built to handle storms like this. Even in North Carolina, where you were, they are constantly prepared for storms. They actually get hit more than we do because of the Gulf Stream, which tends to catch storms and send them up the coast to the Carolinas. But this storm was definitely a Cat 1 (80mph winds). It was just really, really big and took up a lot of space, so it lasted longer than most hurricanes. And, as I said, their infrastructure was made to last snowstorms and whatnot...not really hurricanes.

OK. Apologies guys. 5000 words later and you have the latest addition. Sorry about that.

Also I decided to trouble the waters with the rebels in spain. go figure. I've been reading too much Zafon.

I am just happy you posted. It could have been 2000 words of Laras singing Les Mis songs...

Also, what exactly *is* that damnable Russian saying at the end? I have a handle on the Spanish...

About the damnable princess and how she doesn't understand anything and then lots and lots of swearwords. Is it suitable? The idea was that that last bit would build up the tension between them... though I realised I missed out a sentence linking two paragraphs when I posted.
Idk. I wanted to move things along but I didn't know how to do that from Blarney so figured - characterisation and tension in the castle vs the Spanish/Russian/French dynamic. Basically figuring out how trustworthy they all are. How all of them are fighting each other as well as the Dekkers. Could lead up to why the final mission of RE.2 goes awry.

And it's Catalan - my sister helped with that. I hope it makes sense. I checked the odd thing on google but I can't claim much of it myself. Anyway, it's pretty simple stuff.

Yeah, I got most of the Catalan from context and the little Spanish I know. The Russian I figured was Laras cursing enough to make a sailor blush.
I'm waiting for Laras to realize that Colt isn't a bad guy, which I suppose is part of the fight. Mia trusting people and being right about them, which just feeds her arrogant assumptions about people and makes her even more insufferable. Which leads to Laras and Mia fighting and boom.
I think this campfire is about watching the rebellion crumble around them. They gain a few victories, but mostly Omega is kicking their asses. We don't know who to trust, we are fighting the ones we *can* trust (namely each other), and the war isn't going well. Conversely, Omega is both bad and good and there are bad and good rebels and stuff...

I want a love/hate Colt/Laras relationship. In the sense that they torture each other and both interpret the other as hateful but mostly they have grudging, tentative respect.

Ironically very very similar to the way that Laras and his father will interact later.

Lol my thoughts exactly.
Also, I realize that Tada sticks to me a tad much when I channel him to write. Annoys the shit outta my girlfriend lol.
Too bad for her though, should have my add posted in the next couple of days. Give me some time to recap again and I'll get right to work.

Take some time. Not over a month...*eyes Matt*...please, but some time is fine.
Your addition is wonderful, Matt darling. All is forgiven, though I admit I was getting slightly impatient. Ah the life of the university student...so fraught with inexplicably large amounts of homework...

Ha ha yeeeah sorry.... But don't forget - you posted a week before the end of NaNo (so minus 7 days for that) and then I had exams (so please please forgive me for that 1st - 16th was the eighth level of hell) and then it took me two weeks to type up and post the damn thing and it's still typoed and missing sentences. Bloody life. So yah - inexplicably large amounts of homework. And my dissertation looms every closer. Kill me. Really.

You're in luck though guys - I'm doing a creative writing fiction course next semester. Should brush up on these skillz eh? Even if I can't use anything I do for it online because of the risk of 'plagiarism'.
Glad it's ok though. It read better when I wrote it. ha ha.
Also - with Colt/Laras I really really mean torture each other. Like if they were cops, Laras would be the topdog telling poor old over-experienced DC Banner that he has airport toilet duty.

You're fine, dear. It wasn't a pissed off impatient...it was more of a "dear God, I am ready to see a pissed off Laras right about now" impatient.
I am really looking forward to that. And playing up the innocent flirtation between Mia and Colt...well, innocent for now. I may or may not decide to write the "Laras is a bastard and we're not actually in a relationship and I'm rather broken up about it, so come here cute guy and make me feel wanted" scene myself and not force anyone else to do it with me and use Colt to do it.
We all know the part I am going to have the most fun writing...I admit it, the Laras/Mia relationship is my favorite part of this story.

But I am also really liking trying to expand everything worldwide. I seriously enjoy my Russians and my Catalans and things.

Oh, I love my Omegans. Writing for the "bad guy" is fun, especially as most of them (some are) aren't really that bad. They genuinely see Earth as a bunch of misguided troublemakers who are disturbing the safety and sanctity of the Republic. My one officer actually sees Omega as the true bad guy in this situation and wants to turn the organization into a truly accepting, Republican ideal as opposed to a totalitarian overseer.
Then there's Ether, who's a douche.

Just realized something. At some point, Tada's 'condition' is going to come to light. I can't really see it staying under the radar. I feel like at some point after his insanity into his clarity he's going to feel too guilty about being what he is and admit it to someone. I just don't know how that would play out. He'd definitely keep something up his sleeve to ensure he isn't killed outright as he's determined to see the rebellion through to the end once he gets 'better'.

Oh and I think it'll be a mixture of them trying to bury Paige's memory and his guilt of being a threat to the rebellion that ends up making him crazy for a bit. Seems plausible right?
