Okay, it's not as long as it maybe could have been, but I'm quite happy with what's there, and it has taken me 2 and a half weeks to get round to it. I didn't really want to spend too much time humming and hawing over how to double it up.

It's totally cool. I've never seen any point in stretching out an addition if you have nothing left to say. It just reads like tripe.

It is your turn, indeed. Followed by Zeph's, so I hope he gets his computer back up and working...

Well, if he liked it then he should have put a ring on it...
If we have to, we'll just have to include him in our additions. Since I helped him develop his story, I can help out a bit. His character is home from the war with a small fortune and looking to settle down with a wife, but Mari is actually out of his league at the moment. Mortimer, however, is quite impressed by him, and actually sets about trying to get him a Lieutenancy, which comes at the end and just in time for him to propose to Mari.
What was the story you had planned beyond that? We can probably carry it from everyone else's POV for a little while.

Whoopie! Let me know if you need any help. I'm off work til next Tuesday and have very little to write. Waiting on campfires is slowly killing my soul.

It did turn out rather short and I apologize for that. I'm afraid I haven't quite worked out all the aspects of Mari's internal personality just yet. I expect she is someone that is easily swayed by others though has trouble expressing this. Her proper behavior is something that was trained into her from birth. She was the example, she was required to be perfect in order to receive the affection from her mother that she wished for. But in the end it distanced her from her father and even her mother's affections dwindled once her training became the norm of her behavior.
Yes I ended up making her somewhat internally emo. I will try not to let it go to far down that dark and disturbing path.

That reminds me a bit of Anne Elliot from Persuasion (not that I've read that one yet, only watched the 2007 ITV adaptation on lovefilm).

Great addition as always, Matt dearest.
Also, Beast, I feel like we might have to move into the "group effort" phase I referred to earlier. This means we'll work together to help develop Marian's story until Zeph is back and with us once more. We won't leave you behind, buddy!

Thanks Q. I'm not sure about it yet. There was more I wanted to add by the time I got to the end too. Oh well.
What's Zeph up to these days?

Failing at life. Nngh! Just haven't had any time to do anything or get on. I bought a laptop (Windows 8 sucks ten kinds of dick) and the wireless shits itself. We get the wires grounded for the area where the router is, but it's still a bastard. At least it works decently now.
Anyway, sorry about the delay again. I'm back...again.

Thanks for not leaving me behind! ^_^
Marian is going to be somewhat reliant on others for awhile even if she doesn't Outwardly express it in such a way.

In a sense. Our ISP is giving us problems so my internet isn't up constantly like it freaking should be. It's the data usage. It was supposedly 'unlimited' but we used a lot so they made a cap on it and we grossly exceed that so I think they're fucking with our connection sometimes.
Other than that I am, just haven't been consistant enough to get to do anything yet.
