I ssssuuuuuccckkkk at beginnings. I'm horrid at them. Next time, I'm starting right from the climax. (No pun intended, as I was just talking about sex scenes.)
So...I found a bit that I wrote for a campfire a while back. A now defunct campfire from a now defunct member. And I think, with a bit of tweaking, it could make a great epic fantasy series. A blind boy (well, young man) in a society that believes such imperfections are a sin worthy of death, blessed by the Shadow God, forced to wear a scarf about his eyes to go out amongst the Brights lest they believe him to be a demon, pretending that he wears the scarf because only the gods should guide his steps. Could be awesome.

YAY! I'm at a bit of a denouement at the moment. Eve has remembered who she is and run away from everyone in the classic Jane Austen "WTF have I done moment", and she is currently vacillating between being furious with Lucifer and Hermes and understanding their motivations/wanting them there to comfort her. Aphrodite gets to be the ubiquitous Jane Austen letter and explain to the poor girl that she's being really very stupid and should just go back.
Sometimes I forget that this novel started as an homage to Jane Austen and Neil Gaiman. It's come so damn far. I'm so proud. *tear*

That is a huge plus. I decided to give my inner editor free reign today. She's adding to the word count and I've got enough of a buffer that I figured the inner peace might just be worth it. I had the strangest feeling that I wouldn't be able to continue with the story until I fixed what was eating at me. She is DRIVING ME NUTS!
I'm convinced she's just Mia trying to get back at me for starting an addition for Rebel and then abandoning it to do NaNo. I've had to promise that I will take a day and finish it the second I hit 50k. She is infuriating. Why I ever let myself create a character that complete, I will never understand...

Oh definitely. If you just block out an extensive amount of time to just writing, you can definitely catch up. Fair warning, it hurts your brain. I had to do 6k in one day last year...*shudder*
Also, poor Lyn really needs to start standing up for herself. And I really hope my boyfriend doesn't decide I need to see a shrink to deal with the voices in my head. Because my characters are...well. Mostly, it's Mia bossing Lyn around and Hermes trying to stick up for her and Laras getting annoyed at the whole situation and Lucifer trying to keep my brain intact by not exploding at everyone for messing with Lyn...
