Looks like NaNo is killing us all this year. Slow, painful deaths.

I made the mistake of re-reading some of what I've written. If anyone can teach me how to write a first draft that isn't a rambling mess, I will give them...I dunno, but I'll give them what they want.
Am I allowed to hate myself twice in one month?
Someone please tell me this story has a future. That it isn't a complete disaster and is the kind of thing someone would want to publish and/or read.

Quaddy don't second guess yourself. You can do this and trust me when i say your ramblings are golden.

Oh Quaddy. Your things are awesome.
My things are failings. I literally feel like I'm rewriting the same sentence in different ways. Oh X. You are so simple.

X is not simple...
He just has simple tastes, is all.
I'm sorry, but if your character is still going the path you took him down during the Sketch...an Enforcer-turned-Vampire even though technically that shouldn't be possible at all, he is anything but simple. He's an awesome Enforcer.
I mean, Tony is obviously better, but not everyone can be as cool as she is.

Well, the thing with X becoming a vampire was supposed to be because he slips on his vaccines pr something. I don't even remember. But no, it's not technically possible so I did go back and change that so he didn't become a vampire. Now he's a just an Enforcer that is losing his faith and trying to find the right path. It's coming out fairly rough but I didn't get a fancy character sketch to help me get into X writing mode the month prior. xD

Still...the Enforcers is a great organization and you've created a great world. And every story you write from X's POV gives us an opportunity to explore that world. Meet new people. Understand the organization.

Thanks. I'm really proud of the Enforcers. I've actually started thinking that I might like to develop one of the other squads. This of course makes me think campfire but I have to learn to control myself. @_@

I think we as writers always have something that defines us. For you, I really think the Enforcers could be it. I mean, it could be a great ongoing Dresden Files-type series if you ever wanted it to be.
I really don't know what mine could be. Right now, I'd say Renegade et al, but that's as much Matt as it is me. I suppose I could take Jimmy and Nate and turn them into a "Pinkerton Agency" series, but the story I have now is so historical I feel like I'd be forced to stretch everything into a similarly historical groove. Maybe a "Tale of the Queen's Mechs" sort of thing...
I do know that I could probably carry some of my stories into a series, but nothing in an on-going sort of thing.
I'm rambling, I think. What I was saying before I traveled off into rambly land was you have created a very well-realized world and a lot of people would like to have something like that, I think. Always more to see and knew things to learn within your own world. Like Middle Earth or Dresden's world, or something. Of course, there is the worry that writing such a story will keep you from writing something else, but I seriously doubt Jim Butcher minds.
I would love to write a big collaborative story together one day. Get a whole group together and take what is best from each of us to write something wickedly awesome. Hell, I think the campfire model works really well here, because we could each use our different voices to write from a specific character's POV and have the writing reflect their view. Big story archs and the best each of us has to offer. I think I would be really proud of something like that. Hell, we could do this whole schtick about different faces and it could be totally cool.
I've come to realize that Eve of the Gods really is a Neil Gaiman novel. He once described American Gods as a novel in which nothing much happens, and Eve is totally like that. It's a novel about ideas and beliefs and philosophy. I can only hope I write well enough that my ideas are worth publishing. On the plus side, since this was meant to be a Jane Austen romance meets a Neil Gaiman adventure, I feel like I've accomplished what I set out to do.
NO MORE CAMPFIRES, MYNT! At least until you catch up on the others. Oh, you said you wanted more people in Sybeline, right?

Wants them? No. Needs them? Probably. xD Also more thanks. This is very nice of you to say, Quadster. :-D I do want to turn the Enforcers in to a series. And I have so many ideas that I can't talk about or I'll start thinking about them instead of my story now. @_@ I think you've got something with Eve here, Quaddy. Not a series, but a solid story.

Well, it is definitely up to you. I think it might be fun to add other people, but I like fighting it out as the two of us, too. The storyline we hatched might be more difficult with more people, but we can probably make it work, too. So...I'm fine either way.
I admit that I was trying to go that route with Loki. But I dunno if that's my skill set. I mean, I think Loki having to fight for order and justice in order to work off his punishment is kinda cool. I think I wrapped too much of Loki's development into that one challenge, though. I wonder if people who do these kinds of series plan everything out as far as possible or just pull it out of their ass as they go.
Oh, there is no way Eve could be a series. This is very much a self contained story.

I definitely pull it out of my ass as I go, if that means anything. Lol. There was never supposed to be another X story, to be honest. I was supposed to move on to Cowboy and then so on and so forth. But I like X like a lot. I'm not ready to let go of him yet. >_> I did meet a girl that was a micromanager type and she planned out every minute detail of her series before she actually began to write it. That was very intense. And she did it all on note cards- nothing digital. Every story- scene by scene by scene. So I guess both? xD I think it would be cool if someone wanted to write for Reynard. Since you want to keep him around, him having a writer would be neat.

Note cards *shudder* My professors made me use note cards. For my seminar paper, I had upwards of 400 note cards, each with an individual citation. It was horrid. Took me days to put them in order!!!
I wonder. Matt, wanna play a werekit currently stuck in fox form, but who will end up being able to be human again within a few rounds and ultimately King of Summer?

Yeah man. Sounds cool to me. Well you might have to fill me in on more than that... ie. werekit? like a were-fox-cub? King of Summer? But yeah sounds intriguing and I'm on 28000! HELL TO THE YES FOR DRUGS (the legal kind).
Not publishable though. Even online.

Werekit...a human who can turn into a fox and back. Werefox sounded stupid. No moonly curse, or anything, and they retain their full facilities in fox form. And Summer and Winter are at war with one another. Well, the Summer Kingdoms and the Winter Empire. This was meant to be a sort of grown-up Narnia, with real danger. It begins with my character being mind raped by an incubus, who is also holding Mynt's character (his half brother) hostage in the Ice Emperor's palace.
I think I'm at about the 37k mark right now. My fingers are freezing, so I'm going to go home and keep writing there. Trying to hit 40k by the end of the day.
Also, wrote the sex scene! Borrowed a little heavily from Seb/Alain, but I think it came out pretty good and it fit Lucifer and Eve quite well. I am pleased.

Yes, my character the half incubus/half human is going to free said werekit and Quaddy's character from evil and then hijinks ensue. I'm currently at 22k words but the night's over yet and my goal is still within reach! Grats to you guys though, plowing right through! Now wish me luck as I attempt to glue my journal back together. xD

I believe we decided Joey goes a little insane and ends up becoming the Empress of Summer after the events of the story piss her off. And Mynt's character (who starts out kinda not so nice) ends up saving her from becoming exactly what they had just defeated. And so Reynard ends up King of Summer and Matthias and Joey run off into the woods to be in love and have tons of babies.
Oh lord, I just pictured you as one of those harried college professors running through the hall.
