I can just imagine having to do promotional stuff. I'll have to be pre-emptive and put it in the author bio, or something.

Fuck yeah 7000 words! You're hand writing, dude. I could never get to 7000 words just writing it out. I wrote something by hand the other day and, after two pages, I was only at 500 words! GAH!
You're awesome!

Tee, hee. I feel pretty awesome, thank you. I think I'm at about 15 pages of just handwritten X junk. And I'm so proud. lol.

Sorry about the cursing. Pretty sure no one here gives a damn, but I felt an F-bomb was most appropriate in that moment.
BTDubs...Wreck-It Ralph is awesome. Just saw it today. I told Michael we'd see it first if he promised I could go to one of the uber nice theaters to see Skyfall this weekend. Oh Bond. And that guy playing the new Q...sexiest voice of life. Yeah, I prefer a softer male voice. Never been one for booming bass or anything. Not that Daniel Craig isn't a ridiculously hot man, either. He is. Any scenes with those two together will probably end up with me drooling on myself...
I feel so bad for my other half. He gets to deal with me being a ridiculous Bond fangirl this weekend. And it is SO going to get in the way of my writing, because there's no one I can channel my love for Bond into in this novel. As much as I love Lucifer, he's not really a Bond. Too...sweet. Maybe Hermes could do it...
It would help if I had explosions and guns in my novel, wouldn't it?
OMG, BOND! (and a renaissance festival this weekend, too...)

Yesss. Wreck-it Ralph was awesome. I saw it last weekend. I want to go see more movies but I don't think my novel could handle it. xD

It was just so sweet! And I loved the twist with King Candy!!! Who was Alan Tudyk, btw! I love seeing him get work.

OK, not to take this thread in a completely different direction, but...TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION.
I'm eventually going to have to write a sex scene between Lucifer and Eve. Now, I've got no problem writing sex scenes...hell, pretty much every campfire I'm in with Matt ends up involving sex between our characters (*cough*Mia and Laras*cough*Alain and Seb*cough*), so writing it isn't a problem. However, there's a bit of a question coming to mind for me on this one...
I don't want to make it all flowery and romantic and earth-shattering or "hey, we've loved each other since the beginning of the world and we've finally managed to get together", even though that's kind've how it is with these two. It would be silly and Twilight-y and I want none of that shit in my book. So I need to make it direct without making it too dirty or distracting from the overall theme of Choice. It's just a culmination.
Further, there's the issue of Eve. Her body is virginal, but she remembers having sex in all of her other lives, so mentally and emotionally, she most certainly isn't a virgin. Of course, she's never had *loving* sex, as pretty much all of her sexual experiences are either in loveless relationship or, well, rape...
HELP ME, CAMPFIRE CLIQUE, YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE!

MATT, I need you!!!!
WHY MUST YOU BE IN ENGLAND?!?!
*falls over*
I'm overreacting a bit here. I've got a while before they have sex. 10-12 words easy. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's that scene that puts me over 50k for the year.

I think I wrote a sex scene once. In my X sketch.

Ha! I think I remember that. It wasn't bad. Sex scenes aren't hard necessarily (no pun intended), but this one is a little difficult for me for some reason. Probably because I don't want to turn it into one of those "Twilight-y" love scenes. Nothing too melodramatic. But, seriously it kind of is.
Eve and Lucifer have loved each other since the Garden. Lucifer has loved her since then and no one else. Eve has been in relationships, but has never loved or experienced love since then. Finally, after centuries of being effectively tortured by Adam, Eve (as Lyn) has finally reawakened and reunited with Lucifer, who was forced into being a Fallen Angel by Adam (Adam's a bit of a douche), and suffered being tied to Hell...but still loved Eve after all these centuries. Like, I mean...since the Garden of Eden they've not loved anyone else and they've finally come back together.
If ever there was a time for an epic love scene, this was it. But I don't want to be all corny with it. I hate that whole "and I became one with him" shit. It's stupid. Sex is not just fluffy emotional stuff. It's a physical thing, a reflection of need. And if anyone needs it, it's Lucifer and Eve.

Then why not express that? Primal, animal need. It'd be something different. Not all sappy and weird. Let's go with them like claiming each other. Totally visceral with the scratchy nails and bitey teeth. Maybe some hair pulling but that starts becoming something else. I dunno, I would try to portray the physical need and save the emotional thing later. As far as I know people aren't like "omg, all the feels" during sex anyway. >_>

But then there's the loving thing where she's been raped and abused (at least mentally)... probably the way to go would be to start rough and contrast it to a slower, more sensual and romantic kind of sex as the scene develops - perhaps if you remember the first time for Laras and Mia where he's a little gentler once Mia reminds him she's a virgin? Have the passion but then show Lucifer's loving side, the part that makes him different to any of her prior lovers with a nifty juxtaposition.

Or think about all those Seb/Alain things. That's a similar idea - that they're together and it's carnal and it's necessary and it's binding and it's absolute love and absolute prophecy.

Also - Scotland darling. Why am I in Scotland?
To be honest, when you're lying in bed with a busted leg and a sprained wrist after your bike is offroaded by a ned in a red fiat punto, skidding on leaves and sprawling out over the sidewalk - you start to ask the same question.
WHY AM I HERE? Ouuuuuch.

There might be a hint of anger coming through in that last little bit... but it is pretty agonising. Not fun when you're writing an essay and can't really concentrate. But anyway, how is everyone else doing? NaNo updates???

I was thinking of going the Seb/Alain route. Sex first, conversation later. Starting out like the expression of a pent up need, but sinking into love and magick and fate.
I hope my mother never reads this...
You're from England. Forgot you're still in school. I've been out long enough that my calender has started to become the working man's calender as opposed to the student's.
Ouch! Broken bones and everything? Pain medication? Lots and lots of pain medication? But not the kind to make you loopy, 'cause essay...
NaNo is good. Haven't written anything today as it was Camelot Days Renn Faire. And then the mall, 'cause we didn't stay at the faire as long as we thought we would. But I'm hoping to start something now...

I wrote two pages so far today. So about 1000 words, but I'm not done yet. Also I'm like 8500 words in to the novel and it's all still like beginning stuff. I think this will be a long story. >_> So far X has played cards and ate a cheeseburger. He is like the most awesome dude in the world ever.
