I have those, too. My paycheck covers them well enough. Michael does the rest.

So, I won't lie. I'm in a bad mood today and wasn't in the mood to read in particular, but I did anyway cause it's the only time I freaking have to do so.
I'm glad I did.
Matt, your writing is phenomenal. Again it drew me in and I couldn't help enjoying myself as I always do when I read your stuff. Again, excellent addition.
Also, IT FINALLY LET ME SEND MY REVIEW of RE.

I just had a weird moment.
I was watching the Tudors and raging a little more than necessary, when I realized that the chick playing Mary Tudor (Henry's daughter) would make a pretty good Mia. And then I remembered that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was our "him, only Russian" choice for Laras. Which is...really weird, given that he played her father...
So, I'm falling back on Jennifer Lawrence right now. Only with a British accent.

Or Emilia Clarke. I was watching Game of Thrones and I decided that, with her natural brown hair, she would make a great Mia. A little short, mind, but we could still make it work.
Also, Rose Leslie for Lyn, so long as she can do an American accent.

I'm sticking with JRM for Laras. He's got the hips for it. And the face. And the eyes.

Which is why I'm looking for someone who isn't out prettied by him. Emilia Clarke does royal hauteur very well, and she's actually English, which is a plus. And she's closer to JRM in age than someone who's actually Mia's age of...well, she's twenty-two now.
Laras is the prettiest man ever.
Also, I think Mumford and Sons might have described them perfectly in one of their songs. The stoic mind and the bleeding heart. And I think we all know which one is which.

Also also, I went and edited the camp so that additions can be up to something like a million words. Didn't do anything to fix the editing problem, so that addition will have to stay broken, but hopefully this will keep it from happening again and everyone can write an addition that's twenty pages long with no worries.

I know, but there will be other pretty people by then. Incredibly pretty people who look like our characters and can act. For now, though, Laras is the incredibly sexy/pretty JRM.
And Mia has dragons.

Heeeeeey, Matt! Question for you. I'm working on the scene where Mia asks Charon about starting her self-defense classes, and the plan was that Laras makes a comment about Mia's suitability that is both complimentary and yet Mia could take as an insult. Something about how well she takes a hit, or something. You know, because learning to take a hit is the first and most important step in fighting. But he would say it in such a way that she might think he was basically saying she's not any good, and it could really go both ways. I wanted it to illustrate how badly their communication is as a couple. But I am not as good at writing for Laras in his more cutting moods, so I was wondering how you would have him phrase it. So I can get it right, you know?

Hmmmm I think it would depend on the exact conversation... but I'll give it some thought through the day.

In general, she asks Charon for use of the secondary gymnasium space (it's all part of one, big room, but all the equipment is on one side and the open space with all the mats is on the other. She asks Charon if she may use this space to teach self-defense classes, as a number of people have requested she do so. She would explain (so far, she's rambling a bit, desperate to explain herself before Charon can say no, which is what she fears will happen) that it wouldn't be anything too strenuous and people would only come when they're not on duty, and it was just to make sure that everyone at Blarney knew the basics of getting out of trouble. And that they asked her, not the other way around, etc.

So...how goes the thinking? Sorry, I'm rather stymied until I get that. I mean, I guess I could write the other section...but I'm OCD.

And is Laras involved in the conversation or does he just happen to be with Charon at the time? Or does Charon ask him his opinion?

Laras and Charon are together. Technically, she asks Charon, but both of them have a say. Charon makes final decision, but not without getting Laras' opinion.

That's actually what I need. Charon has asked Laras what he thinks and I just need something Laras-y in reply.

Could it be something like: "Let her try. Miss Godwin's competency will soon reveal itself, even if it is only to teach the many-headed multitude how to fall as well as she."

Yeah, that'll work. Mia is suitably offended in my head. Laras is officially King of the Back-handed Compliment.

Glad it works. It's umm definitely unintentionally backhanded too. So...
