Yeah. Came on the television the other day and I spent it cracking up.
Admittedly, my favorite part is when everyone's like, "THE AMERICANS HAVE AN IDEA!!! THANK GOD!!!" It is absolutely the most exaggerated, egocentric scene in the entire movie.
I spent the entire time wondering how Blarney would feel about this movie. On the one hand, Earth binding together to repel an alien invasion. On the other, it's completely ridiculous and overwhelmingly American.
Did you know I actually decided against setting Renegade at Harvard because of this movie? I didn't want America to be the heart of a world wide rebellion again.

I picked Oxford because it's in England, yes. Definitely.

Okay, so I just got my internet back as of like 9pm last night. SO, I didn't get to read the additons or respond to the boards, or manually migrate our forum to the V5 system now that I've had a chance to test it. I'm kinda peeved about that cause Sunday was basically gonna be my "sit your ass down and write" day but apparently we need to buy a bigger net package cause we keep exceeding the bandwith.
Blah.
Also my avatar is from The Community. One of the character's names is Jeff and he has a freakout and one point in the show in which he starts mumblin gand saying "uh" constantly while using odd inflections in words to which Abed (a tv obsessed and mentally handicapped student and member of their study group) responds "Oh Jeff, you're Goldbluming." The picture itself is Jeff just as he's about to start "Goldbluming"
As far as questions go I will have a lot more once I actually get tto read the additions when I get home today.

Also I like this version lots more. It feels more real if that makes sense? Because it has tension and psychology and all sorts =)

It's something like 17 pages and more than 12k words.
I'm glad you liked it. I wanted to kind of make it apparent that Max really is *that good*, that he can read Laras, but also that Laras is *that good* he can ALMOST hide. And I also added a password bit to the Aiden in Miami section. Aaaaand a bit about Edward being aware of Mia's waning popularity and his willingness to exploit it (and also fix it, ensuring she is happy with him). Oh, and Laras and Edward silently agreeing that Mia can be entirely too melodramatic.

OK, so I did a lookie loo and I'm at 9k already for next round and I still have...3.5 sections to write. If twelve thousand words is the limit (which I'm guessing given where my last addition was cut off), this...is going to suck.
If this happens again, I'm thinking we might have to ask the SM and SMs to up the limit to something absolutely ridiculous. Seriously, there's only one section I can remove from this addition and not mess up the whole flow of things...

ALSO, got a reply from Ascetic. Here's what he had to say.
1) Matt, he totally digs the idea of strengthening the Laras/Charon dynamic.
2) He believes Charon would think Laras and Mia are being absolutely stupid fighting like this. That they should just admit they love one another, move on, and focus on the Rebellion. We discussed a really cool idea, as well, that Charon might actually break down (part of the whole falling apart thing, which Ascetic likes a lot and has already started doing) and yell at Laras, telling him these feelings. Laras hearing from Charon that he's not focusing on the Rebellion and Mia is distracting him would be the PERFECT impetus for Laras breaking with Mia following her agreement with Edward. Laras, being absolutely furious, takes his frustrations out on Mia and she runs off and into Colt, etc. We know the rest.
3) Charon is totally the one in charge of the WWN. Ascetic reminded me that Charon knows all sorts of Omega code, being a double agent, and he could encrypt and code using Omega's own network to send Rebel messages. Obviously using Omega code to HIDE from Omega, of course. So...I told Ascetic he had use of Helio and Miguel (my Miguel) to help with that, if he wanted.
4) Max is obviously one of the infiltrators at the end, but Ascetic posited the idea (which I like) that Charon would make a good one, too. He's already a double agent, so he could (when he noticed the ambush) act quickly and reestablish his cover. If Max is there, too, having Charon would give Omega someone to watch and that would mean Max could act more efficiently. And it would still give Mia her moment to prove herself.
5) Charon is probably going to attack Mia for Laras leaving. He would attack Laras, but...Laras ain't there. He's going to call Mia inconstant for sleeping with Colt and she is going to whip his ass. We also discussed that she fights more like Scarlett Johannsen (Black Widow) in Avengers (or Iron Man 2). Quick, fast, using her whole body for power plays...especially as she's smaller and less powerful than, say, Laras. So just picture that.
6) Also, Charon is going to run with this communiques from his old handler thing. It means there's another spy somewhere in the rebellion, which we all knew, and that Charon has to deal with this alone, as he won't tell anyone. But it also enables him to reestablish his relationship with Omega, making it easier at Prime to infiltrate.
What sayeth you to all this?

OK, Ascetic e-mailed me back after I e-mailed him with some of the stuff we've been discussing. His argument with Laras will be the catalyst for the Mia/Laras conflict, which will lead to Mia sleeping with Colt, which will lead to Laras leaving, which will lead to Charon confronting Mia. This second confrontation actually serves as Charon's breaking point. Ascetic likes the idea of Charon knocking Colt out, too. I said it was cool, especially as it helps with the whole 'Charon breaking down' thing. Considering as Charon's wife is being tortured so long as he serves the Rebellion, and that his handler is forcing him to do stuff, and Naomi is a traitor (he decided that), etc. And of course Laras and Mia aren't helping by being obnoxious.
Fun stuff.

PHEW!!! MY goodness, I just managed to finish Quaddy's add for the first time all the way through. Thank goodness I managed to get a new set of headphones. They helped tremendously. Really hard to focus and read when you have a house full of people. Especially when three of the creatures there are dogs, two are cats, one is just inherently loud, two are a teenage couple who argue loudly, and one is a gramma who constantly talks about unrelated topics no matter what is being talked about or how much others are trying to NOT talk to her.
Surprised my brain is still in tact.
Anyway, sorry this seems so slow going and delayed but anyway it was a great add as usual Quaddy. The tension and the mind games continue to keep it interesting even though I could see a hilarious spoof of this being turned into an explosion laden soap opera. Seriously, though thought had me laughing out loud randomly when it popped into my head. But yeah, awesome stuff. Once I get Matt's done I can move forward with my add and edit what I've got so far to fit better.
If all goes well I may get it done tomorrow, but likely I'll have it sometime this weekend.

You have a choice, Matticakes. That's more what Charon will be doing and how it works into the general outline of what we've already discussed. But seriously, if Charon called Laras'...dedication/focus into question and then said distraction (namely Mia) came to him needing emotional support...what would Laras do?
And thank you, Zeph. Glad you liked it. Also...what sort of place are you living in? It sounds like you've got a few too many people/creatures under one roof.
Aaaaaaand this weekend is good.

Heh, I live with Molly's family. It's a two story house with 4 rooms, a big upstairs area, and an attic. One dog and two cats belong to Molly's immediate family, the other two dogs are the gramma's. All of them annoy me except the big dog (Honor) and the small brain damaged dog (Baby Ruth).

Ah, sounds like the situation my boyfriend had for a while, except 10 people were living in a three-bedroom, one story...maybe 1500 square foot place. He practically wept for joy when I let him move in with my family. There were four of us, a dog, three cats and a turtle in a three story town house. Lots more room.
I will reply to your message about RE when I get off work. Oh work...worky worky worky...

Some people are like that. I could move back in tomorrow if I needed to; my parents' house is always open. I wouldn't want to, but I could.

Same here, but living with Molly's fam is much easier with the big house even with all the people (7) and animals (5).
Not to mention they're just easygoing about me being there. Sadly there are times like yesterday when no computers are free that remind me how bad I need to get my own though.
