Yes. In 1812 the Russians invaded somewhere in Texas, and there was a great battle at this place called the Alamo which may have in fact been a restaurant.

God man that is so much worse than having no internet. I mean jeez, I'm having a beast of a time because of things like nightmarish panics about my dissertation and getting annoyed at the lack of wifi and freaking because my best friend is pregnant. But Zeph, seriously. I hope you're coping alright. Anything we can do?

Oh no I'm fine. I found out a few weeks ago. We weren't super close anymore and it was his fault. It was a shootout with the cops. I may or may not have contributed to my difficulty writing but I don't think so until now a little bit. Just kinda remembered some stuff and a few times I may have been able to make a difference in the path he took, but I didn't.
Really nothing you guys can do about it. I'm fine mostly. I mean at this point there's nothing I could have done really. Just kinda sucks to think about.

Actually I did just find a small error/gap that I left open because I wanted to double check. But did we name Laras' dad properly? Ever? Other than The Raven? Because his name would obviously be Nikolai something-or-other but thought I should check that.

I've got some ideas. Bear in mind that whatever his name is... Laras would also have the patronymic name although he's dropped it for various symbolic and personal reasons. I'm going to be playing with that later.
Nikolai Kirillovich Nikolao. (making it Laras Nikolaevich Nikolao)
Kirill Ivanovich Nikolao. (Laras Kirillovich Nikolao)
Stanislov Kirillovich Nikolao (Laras Stanislovich Nikolao)
I kind of lean towards Kirill Ivanovich... Or maybe Kirill Stanislovich.... hmm... thoughts?

They all sound very Russian. Sorry I doubt that helps much. Stanislovich gets my vote.
Also, the shootout wasn't in my neighborhood or anything. Pretty sure it was way on the south side. Which is generally where anything like that would happen.
