As I might have mentioned before (I so have...to, like, everyone), I'm cheating and continuing my novel from last year. I'm determined to finish it and as NaNo represents the one time of year when I actually get some really effective writing done (and not in bursts til 4am like now...damned Rebel Earth...), I figured it's OK to bend the rules. Brandon Sanderson did it and it turned out to be "The Way of Kings", which is epic. Seriously. Epic.
Which character are you using, Mynt? Another Enforcer?

Yes, I'm continuing my "Life with X" series for NaNo. Except he hasn't been real forthcoming with story stuff since I refused to go back and edit his previous novel. >_>
And... good luck on getting an addition out of me this close to NaNo. German controls all the good portions of my brain at the moment. >_<

I think we might want to assume that none of us are going to do much writing for additions this close to NaNo. It's like the calm before the storm.
I really, really hope Lyn and Lucifer aren't mad that I've left the novel alone for a year. I meant to edit it...I really did. But then I decided that (and I admit that this might have been a cop out) I might edit it better if I had the whole thing written out.
I really just want to get published. I don't need to be famous, but I want to be a professional writer, and I like to think I'm good enough to be just that.

Good good. I'll have time to add in December.  I'm kind of excited about NaNo, although on the other hand I hope I actually have time to write. There's so much stuff I want to write about X and stuff. I should have gone back and done the overhaul of the first one. I have a list of excuses why I didn't, namely that I'm lazy.  |

As far as I know my story is going to follow a no-account guy from a no-account village! lol
He finds an old map (I think in one of his relative's deceased possessions) he can't read it but for a single seal that he recognizes from a kingdom on a faraway continent. His journey will take him across a desert, into a great weirwood and a war torn countryside. He'll find himself smack in the middle of conflicts and intrigues in the villages and regions through which he travels, meeting a huge cast of characters of which only a few will travel with him for a time and fewer still may meet him again during his travels.
All this merely because he was tired of his no-account existence and believes if he gets the map translated he'll be able to have an adventure lol.

Oh you guys are grammarly.
You terrified me B with the 'extinguished' thing - then I read it and calmed down - tbh it gives me a little peace of mind. From now... til... December 10th I am a nonexistent entity I think. I'm going to try and write out my nano but I'll freak if it succeeds. +20K of essays? yeah that's all I'm working on. Actually... 34K if I include the midterms I handed in Thursday.
I'm so envious of your maps and eve and X and everyone else.
GAH.
Glad I'm not religious right now - I'd be screwed on the 'do not covet' thing.

I'm out of commission until December, as well. Truth be told, probably til the 2nd week of Dec. I'll post here and help plan and say stupid things, but other stuff is done. I have some stuff written for Rebel, but that's just to get limber so I can roll on into Eve come Nov 1st.
Beginning of December, Rebel, Rouicia, and In Service all get rolling.

I kind of imagine him being the sort of person (kind of like me but not quite) that is just utterly unhappy with his current existence, always wanting and wishing to be off having adventures and traveling but always required by duty and responsibility to stay where he is.
When he finds the map these feelings overflow and he sneaks off during the night.

NaNo should always be attempted even if known to be impossible to accomplish due to other factors. as long as you always attempt, something is always written.
