Some would have to - convinced over time that your character is at least sincere in the defense of humanity and perspective on Alius. I could imagine Phoenix having a reluctant acceptance once his worries are assuaged and people at the top might have a grudging respect even though they don't dare remove whatever device it is that can control him.

My character has an almost sort of friend

Yeah I don't think Phoenix is a very social person, let alone a very good person to befriend... but he's loyal and tolerant.

My character is probably idiot enough to think everyone is his friend.

Your character would have to be a really, really big idiot to think Regan is his friend. Letting him live is about as close as she's ever going to get to friendship with him.

He might suspect she doesn't like him, but I think he's a generally laid back, happy-go-lucky kind of guy.

Regan doesn't like anyone except Faran...

Not even Matt's other character?

Nope. She tolerates them, feels responsible for them, and takes care of them. Likes them? Not really.

And she feels even less for my character then.

She mostly just ignores your character.

Poor nameless guy that just wants to help and not hurt anyone.

Regan hasn't had a good past with the Alius. They slaughtered her family when she was ten and left her for dead, as they don't really like dead flesh. She has a scar that stretches from her throat all the way down to her pelvis and, to this day, she doesn't know if the creatures stole her ability to have children or not. Astor saved her from that, and then the Alius tore him apart, leaving her all alone in the world except for her soldiers. She's thirty-one (I believe), the youngest leader of the LSO yet, and two decades of her life has been nothing but war.
She...doesn't particularly care for the Alius. And having one around, no matter how nice, is a reminder of everything.

He doesn't take it personally.

That's good. Taking it personally would only make it worse...

I don't see him as taking much Alius hate personally. He knows what's going on. By the way, how long ago was the world taken over?

Oh my goodness two days without being on computer is painful. I'll have to address most of this later. Work time now. I like the idea though Matt and Mynt.
Oh, and Quaddy, you know Regan can't help but like Erol even though she'd probably never feed him that information. Heck she probably doesn't enjoy liking him.

I think maybe it's been about 100 years now actually. I don't remember exactly, but it's been a long time. I remember I had the timeline up for a while on the ffstoriesuntold forum before the great purge.

So no one alive would remember humans being free. Did the alius keep history books around?

Regan doesn't precisely like Erol, but she has a grudging fondness for him...like a young sibling she's been charge of for years since their parents died.
And Faran is her homeboy.

"Fight it all you like Boss Lady, I'm just irresistible." That's probably exactly what he'd say. Also yes. Not to mention stories and things passed down from older members to the younger both within the LSO and within some slave camps. The inside of the base is actually pretty big. I mean it's a man-made island and stuff but it's a big one. The inside holds a lot of people. They have a few schools and things inside. I believe there are 4-5 levels of the base itself. The first island was destroyed and part of this one is them looking for the third which was the one that was supposedly completed. The island they're in is the second one created and once they inhabited it it took a lot of work to get it running properly. But yeah, they have a TON of books there.
