Tysus, is mostly made up of grasslands and hills. I imagine the mountain ranges are mostly in the west and southwest. Most of Tysus is bunched up on the north of the entire continent bordered only by Whim. Tysus is bordered to the south by the vast Ancient Lands.
It is a monarchy ruled by the Immortal King and Queen. There are 6 major cities there that I have neglected to name while several smaller towns and villages dot the terrain.
Alabaste- Marble and masonry work, Nilum- commerce and trade, Kings Falls(atop a cliff near a waterfall) science and philosophy, Kite Rhem- agriculture and food, Durvak- Silk, mostly art (music, writing, painting), Highglow (basically everything).
Alabaste
The City of the Ancient Stones
Westernmost major city in Tysus bordered west by the Stonegard Mountains. Alabaste has quarries along the outskirts to extract their vast sources of marble. There are a few buildings in Alabaste made from concrete which they believe to be a product of alchemy from somewhere in the Ancient lands. Some alchemists have figured out how to make it, though it hasn't quite caught on yet as it is difficult to produce. Masons from Alabaste are widely desired and praised for their skill.
Food in Alabaste is notoriously simply and most consider it very bland.
Nilum
City of Coins (Sometimes called the City of Deep Pockets)
A few miles east of Alabaste near the Tysian River that flows from the north of King's Falls all the way south through Tysus into the Ancient Lands. The city is quite large and has constantly manned walls. It's military presence is somewhat large because of it's near central location. Nilum is the main trading hub of the land aside from its capitol and most thieves and vagabonds seek it out. It is not an easy place to thrive in and is often the crux of a person's rise to fortune or fall to ruin. There are many street pedlars as well as larger establishments of high repute.
This place has the biggest mix of cultures in Tysus.
King's Falls
City of Brilliance
King's Falls is the Northermost major city of Tysus. It is north and slightly east of Nilum separated by a smaller town and the luxury city that is Queen's Landing. King's Falls is a city mostly of research into the sciences. Mostly biology, medicine, and alchemy, but their focus on knowledge over the years has expanded heavy into physics and psychology as well as lots of influence on philosophy. King's Falls is the only remaining cities that retains a council of elders to make decisions on behalf of the city. They still have a duke who reports to the king but his decisions are influenced heavily by the council.
King's Falls is where Tysus's leaders meet yearly with the ruling parties of Whim and a few others. Their medical care is much better than the other cities.
--Queens's Landing--
This is a smaller city at the bottom of the waterfalls built by Alabastion masons years ago to honor the Queen. It is a beautiful place with its central area made entirely from marble and constructed in a half ring to surround the falls and it's lake with part of the city built as a bridge over the river as to not disturb it. The place is inhabited but the cost of living is very high. It is something of a resort city. It is also unfortunately something of a hub of hedonism.
Kite Rem
City of the Source
Kite Rem is the agricultural center of Tysus, their culture revolving mostly around food, family, and old tradition. The inner city itself is rather modern in line with most other major cities, but the outskirts and outer areas of the city are mostly farms and ranches as well as woods. Kite Rem is located east of the Tysus but there is a small tributary that flows nearby. With the help of King's Landings researchers they figured out how to spread their irrigation throughout their farms. Most of their money comes from food and horses.
Their food is very good, and they have ample supplies of it as well as quality ingredients hard to find elsewhere. The Hushed Forest is south of it, the northern part of the forest not being considered Ancient Lands. There is a salt quarry located in a small town to the east.
Durvak
City of the Poet
Located halfway between Kite Rm and Highglow, Durvak was one of the first cities founded in Tysus and has a very rich history. They are the lead exporter in silk, and one of the only constant suppliers because they have the only silkworm farms. Durvak was originally founded under the name of Sunsend, but a famous bard had made a string of tales about the fictional town of Durvak that became very popular. The town adopted the name and attracted artists and poets from all around the land eventually growing into what it is now. Musicians, painters, poets, sculpters, all types of artists spring up from Durvak with its museums and halls of literature. It has the second largest library in Tysus second only to the Catacomb Libralus in King's Landing.
Durvak turns just about anything into an artform. Their residents strive to see the aesthetics in whatever they can. Their culture inspires independence and creativity.
Highglow
Capitol of the Sun
Highglow is the capitol of Tysus and houses the Palace of the Sun where the Immortal King and Queen that rule the land for 100 years at a time. Highglow is the largest city in Tysus boasting a population of over 500,000 residents. It sits furthest to the east of all the major cities. It's military presence is astounding, with a force of 200,000 located there (in city and nearby forts). Highglow combines the trade status of Nilum, the architectural splendor of Alabaste, and the creative and aesthetically driven spirit of Durvak into a huge shining pinnacle of a city. Part of Highglow is Marlow Port on the east that supplies the city with fish and houses the navy.
Highglow was originally called Saahlgard before the Palace of the Sun was built.
