A Middle-aged Philosopher that was forced into retirement after being discovered a fountainhead that stole his ideas from his Nietzschean, autistic 'friend', living in Iceland as he attempts to discover himself. A boy with one green eye and one blue eye with an addiction to apples and believing that God lives in a Rubix Cube. A woman with one hand and a large black dog whose best friend lives in cyber space. A murderer that doesn't think that he's ever committed murder. And a group of psuedo-scientists that believe the Gods are Real. The Third in the Sanctuary Cycle.

More like a clusterfuck but it was awesome.
Essentially... ok my first ever completed NaNo was a half-romance, half-social, half-fantasty thing. It was about an Irish girl who discovered she belonged to the Draconian. Only she didn't know this, nor did she know about the worlds Above, Below and Between. After being discovered by a guy called Leon, she is taken to visit a man who will not face her. He is an Olde Vampire, one of the longest living Immortals of the Inbetween. He's only just awoken after nearly a century of The Sleep, risen because his blood can sense his Mate. The Draconian girl. However, many others of Above, Below and Between are also stirring for a second reason - the Rise of a sinister evil that's threatening to expose their world
Please bear in mind that Stephenie Meyer wasn't even a blip on the raydar when I wrote this one. I was like... 16 or something. And originally the girl was a boy called Ceiran and that's why I can't remember her name cos I still see her as a boy...
ANYWAY.
Book Two was another NaNo but it failed to reach 50K due to other work etc and so I set up the premises for Waiting History. In it, The Author - an Immortal gifted with the obvious power of authorship, takes his powers to extremes - using it to control humankind through violence and death. A motley band of other Immortals, gathered and taught at the 'Monster Hospital' AKA Sanctuary, realise that they need to act. The problem is that many of the Olde kind have returned to Sleep after the great battle of the first book. However, a boy with silver eyes exists and he is the Author's antithesis: The Reader. He has the power to interpret the actions of the Author, to salvage the world from his cruel reign. The Vampire and Draconian appear briefly as teachers and later as part of the final assault group.

Book Three then turned to MAINLY look at the human world.
The psychiatrist is your average guy. Bit of a dick. Nice looking. Middle aged. But he's brought in by a mysterious woman who claims that a boy who has been admitted to a unit in Iceland after witnessing the murder of his father, and who no longer speaks, is her long lost son. She wants him to help her son to heal so she can take him home.
However, quick as anything, things begin to spiral out of control. The woman seems to be working with a group of scientists who want the boy for information on 'Gods'. The psychiatrist, with the aid of a one-handed woman with a dog that smells of sulphur, escapes with the boy and thus begins their adventure.

It's kinda the first story but in reverse and later on after The Author fiasco.

I feel like I've heard something about it before actually. Not in a book but from you. Have we ever talked about that stuff?

I don't think so... Waiting History is the campfire I tried to start to compensate for book 2's NaNoFail but... I'm unsure?

Wow, the Author/Reader thing is really awesome. Maybe I peeked in on the Nano thread and saw it.

It was probably my favourite idea but I just didn't have enough to get it past the planning stage. I mean... I have so much writing on it and I've even 'copyrighted' them basically...

It was fun being nocturnal.
