Aye aye. Everyone is back at HQ for furlough, which means getting booster shots and meeting with psych for an eval, or the high-up types for reports (paperwork and whatnot if you've gotten a kill/arrest, etc). General military-esque stuff.

Out of curiosity. Are we killing vampires and things? And are we killing them cause they exist or because they are generally bad peoples?

[Quaddy]

We are the magickal beings sent out against other magickal beings. Those who refuse to fall under the auspices of the law, or who do bad things for people. In essence, we are a government organization. If the government decides something is bad, they get taken down.

Only humans are allowed to be members, but it doesn't follow that all Vampires are taken down. Just bad ones. Or ones the government doesn't want around. But our characters are all idealists, so we just assume they're bad people. And they usually are.

Yes he is. He's a shapeshifter. But he is human.

Well phooey. Back to the original idea then.

Yup. A hermaphroditic shapeshifter. No mention of being not a human. And if that was his intention, I am putting the kibosh on it now.

Are you arguing that hermaphrodites aren't human, or that shapeshifters aren't?

Neither. I'm not so insensitive. I just think the fact that I'm saying that a shapeshifter is human is odd but I suppose an ability is an ability right?

I mean, technically they're all mutants anyway.

[Quaddy]

Yeah. I mean, that's kind of the whole question behind X-men, right? Are mutants human? Better than human? Stuff like that.

And I never thought of shapeshifters as anything but human. Humans with the ability to mutate their physical appearance, but not necessarily their DNA.

Unless they can manipulate their DNA....

But that doesn't change their base DNA. What they were born with, which is human.

These doors that they go to are everywhere, right?

All over the world, actually. If it's outside the US, it's probably found on a military base. If it's in the US, it can be literally anywhere. And it doesn't always look like a door.

Also, HQ is its own pocket realm. It exists SOMEWHERE on this planet, but it isn't always the same place.
