I'll say a prayer for you as well, but I'm not sure how much of a condolence that is if you're not religious. I'll still do it though.

I still put 'Christian' on census forms and applications and stuff. Mainly because they don't often have an option that fits other than 'other' and 'other' is very hard to explain...
Plus, the more I read Milton, the more I like his God. And his is a really weird Christian God. Like, it's very very to-the-scripture. But it's not anglican or catholic. Very interesting. (I think this is what writing a dissertation does to you...)

Also Mynt, don't die. Please. Why are you dying?

I do believe in Mynt. I do. I do. I do believe in Mynt. I do. I do.
Is it helping? Should I be clapping too?

I've been feeling under the weather today, so I only got about half a page written on Mortality. I think I"m going to end up just posting whatever I get to by the end of tomorrow.
For this,, I already know about my character so that's good. It just leaves all the other campfires that I don't know about my character for... which is pretty much all of them. lol

Well, this is my board, so I say...lay it on me. I've got some time to help right now.

Well for mortality, I think I had a too grand of an idea to cram in to one addition. Cutting it short will probably be a good thing, it'll definitely give me somewhere to go on my second addition- assuming we don't all meet up pretty soon.
For Terracotta, I was going to make an additional character to give my character someone to play with for now. But I really think in the long run, Iwill get tired of writing for two characters. I had a vague idea what I wanted to do for that one but it's no good if I don't make another character.
Rouicia, I have no idea.
Sybeline I have a pretty good idea what to do on this one (for once). But since it is the three of us, I think I'm safe leaving it for last.
Shattered won't be too hard since I'm introducing a character and a power that are some of my favorites.
Witch Hunt, pfft whatever.
But on the other hand, I'm sick and tired and I don't want to do anything.

1) Cut your idea short. It's not likely that we'll all get together next round, so having some sort of built-in addition for a few rounds is a really good idea.
2) Create a kill-off character. A character that you need for now, but can totally be killed later so you don't need to write for them a super long time. I call them one-offs, but you could totally use said character until you need them.
3) Rouicia...yeah, that one is just getting going. Your character has just died and woken up in a world that is apparently her home, but she cannot remember it at all. Since she doesn't talk, her reaction to this is the obvious route to go. Which characters is she going to have a close relationship with? (Keep in mind that Wolfie is MIA, so we'll have to carry the onus of Ranulf until she comes back.)
4) Sybeline is good for last. I wanna give Matt some time to breathe, work on his dissertation, and catch up.
5 and 6) What power are you using? And, yeah, it's your own campfire, which should make it a little easier.

Good advice all. If I cut my addition short for Mortality, then I should have it done relatively soon. Save the rest for a second and possibly third round.
Creating a character that's only around for a little bit might work. It'll also let me decide whether I like them enough to keep them around at all.
Rouicia is harder since Wolfie left. Her's was the character mine was close too. But I'll just try and stick to my character for this round and see where that takes me.
For this one, I was going to use a variation of shadow play. Basically she can control darkness, make it more corporeal or use it to travel. She can't make shadows though, just control what's already there.

I do love shadow play. That's part of what Rei can do in Terracotta.
Well, perhaps Zeph or Beast would be willing to take over for the one your character is close to. The human part of your character might be closer to Wolfie's character, but as the Avatar comes out, another might be closer. You could just have that aspect of your character start coming out really soon, as it has with mine and Matt's. Not even memories, but feelings that you can't explain...

I used to have a bunch of rp characters that used shadow play. And I even gave it to Laz in Redemption, but Wolfie never seemed to know what to do with it.
Hm, maybe. It'll be something to consider.

Dude, Quaddy you're a damn boss. I meant to type something meaningful (other than I'd be absolutely willing to help in Rouicia even though I'm not thinking about it again yet) and mainly you've basically covered everything.

Quaddy to the Rescue! YEAH! (I need Aerosmith to sing that...)
OK--in this campfire...basically, we work for an organization called the Night, which is run by the US Government, although various nations around the world have their own. Our job is to hunt down evil in a more Supernatural sort of way. We are all mutants--government run X-men, so to speak--and have magickal powers of our own, which is why we are in the Night and our jurisdiction is evil Supernatural creatures. Or just necessarily evil, but enemies to the state.
Thing is, all our characters are very idealistic. They believe wholeheartedly in the organization and what it stands for, and they believe they are the good guys, helping people out and whatnot. This is very important, because the purpose of this story is to break them of that. It's to steal their idealism and be cruel to our characters while simultaneously giving Matt and I the chance to write another romance because it's kind of a given at this point (although this one was way back toward the beginning).
Essentially, our fellows start disappearing (which is why we've got a few extras that don't have writers) and reappearing once more as doppelgangers--their evil twins. And the Night--our characters--are forced to hunt down and kill their one-time friends while simultaneously bringing down the mastermind behind it--one Iain McCleod. Well, in the end, it turns out that the government is behind it. They orchestrated a fake disaster in order to boost their own popularity in an election year. Further, they use this as proof of how dangerous an organization like the Night is--after all, all these supposedly loyal members turned against their fellow Americans--so that the organization may be cut to "create smaller government".
In the end, our characters end up on the run and alone. So very, very alone.

Have smoochies with Matt's character and then go rogue. And you both could control a bajillion characters in the process. *nods.*

You guys should probably try a story where your characters hate each other. Just to spice things up.

Then again... Laras hated Mia. We didn't even see that one coming until we were half way towards it/after lots of conversation.
And in Shattered our characters are like doomed not to be together - at least at first. If I recall?

Also - just so you know - the reason I am up at 3am is (a) because I just kicked out the boy I'm hooking up with and (b) it's so cold I can't sleep. When I exhale it's misty as if I'm outside. brrrrrrr.
