Lol did you just ask for character creation help on this board? I hope you know what you're getting yourself into lol. As soon as this ibuprofin kicks in I'll start thinking lol.

Well, if they're just one-offs, meant to get your character moving toward New Ordellia, then you really just need a reason for your character to be sent off. Perhaps there is a right of passage in Elven society--a sort of spirit quest type thing--that requires your character go off on an adventure to prove his worthiness to enter adult society? That way, you would really only need a sort of village elder, or a council of elders, explaining your character's quest and then you can be on your way to joining the plot.

Or there could be an elven ex-hero in new Ordellia that he wants to meet/find. Someone also skilled in magic with some sort of unique ability with it that no one could explain before. Maybe it has nothing to do with magic, maybe he just hitches a ride with one of the merchant caravans or something to see what the big deal about the city is? He could be looking for old books that were lost there or stolen and taken into the city, it could involve a girl.

Oh, and Mynt, did you want me to skip you or something again or do you feel like adding in this?

Aside from Quaddy, is anyone else actually ready to add/interested in this one still?

I liked the idea of this one. I feel a bit distanced atm but that's because it's been a while I guess?

Yeah probably. I'll have to check this when I get home and stuff. May have to and stuff. Might have to for Mortality too even though I hate too. I like Kat, and she has good ideas and stuff but I haven't gotten anything back from her in too long.

I'll be honest, I don't feel anything for my character. But that tends to happen when I try to pull an addition from a bio block. x:

I think you're doing it backwards. You should pull the bio-block and the addition from the character, not the other way around. A bio-block should just be typing up a few details, not something you need to slavishly adhere to. Hell, in Terracotta, Rei's bio says she has straight black hair that she braids tight...but the character definitely has wavy brown hair that she keeps in a messy braid.
But yes, I am still interested in this. I don't find it as hard as other people do to pick up for a character that I've put down for a while.

That's how you do it.

Yup, it is. I was offering a suggestion.

Ah, now that wasn't a "that's how -you- do it." It was a "-That's- how you do it." But no, this won't work for me. Mostly because when I come up with a bioblock it's like trying to describe someone I haven't met yet. And then when it comes time to write about them I'm kind of like "oh you're nothing like I thought you'd be."

Then write for what the character is saying to you, as if you never wrote a bio block. And then change the bio block to reflect the character. Especially in a camp like this, where the bio is only in the forum and not in the campfire.

The bio is in the campfire, yes? It was our first additions?

Yeah, but we created it *here* and just posted it there for people who aren't on the forum. But since everyone is now on this forum...that has been rendered moot. That's what matters. Who cares if the character you write for corresponds to the bio you wrote? I don't think anyone here does. Hell, if you wrote for a character and then wrote a new bio, I'm sure Zeph would edit your addition with the new one.

I didn't post my bio here. Just in the campfire. xD

Well, why would you do that?! Sheesh.
But still...forget the bio. Act as if you never created it and just write a character. I mean, she was supposed to be related to Beast's character, but no one has even delved into that storyline yet, or even mentioned it...so I'm pretty sure it's not set in stone. Don't like that idea anymore? Invent a new one. Write a character you like and the bio will follow.

I'm probably going to have to do that or else drop this campfire. @_@

And no one wants you to drop, so I'm sure I can probably speak for the others when I say do what feels right as a writer.

Anything but dropping.

Indeed.
Yeah, if that bio doesn't suit you just ignore it. Take what you like and make up the rest. It's fine really. I'll edit the bios or remove them later once we all have several additions. It depends really. Just toss me a message or something.
Or, I'll make you a deal, when you've posted your first add, I'll remove your bio if you like. That way you don't have to worry about it.

I'm just going to write it how the character feels and go from there. I'm definitely not feeling that bioblock.

No problemo. Once you post, I'll remove the bioblock like I said, unless you'd rather I didn't.

Lol, calm Sir Matt. It'll be alright. I'm sure your add will be fine. No rush. I don't have time to rush people right now. I'm trying to stay afloat till the computers and stuff stop moving around so I can spend all day on them lol.
