Honestly, the reason I love campfires so much is that reading other peoples' writing is what provides such inspiration. I lack discipline...

So...I just realized, despite the fricken e-mail, that I am up in this. It's my own damn campfire...
Go me.

Sometimes it gets to all of us.
And I'm learning how to breathe again. This is amazing.

I will probably have this up by the end of today. Maybe...
But it's my own campfire, so whatever.

I know what I'm doing, I just have to sit down and write it. And since I've been writing so much recently, I'm like...can I squeeze a few thousands more words out of my head?

I have actually brought out the classical music and everything. I think perhaps I need some Loreena McKennit, though...

So...I just found out something kinda funny. Well, funny to me. Apparently Ulster, where this story takes place, lasted until about the mid 400s (which we're changing for the purpose of this story), until it's capitol city fell to Vikings during the Battle of Moira. And this amuses me because my character is named Moira.
Also...for my Pinkerton short-story-that-is-now-reaching-novella-length, James McKenna (my main character's name) also happens to be the alias a real-life Pinkerton agent used when bringing down a group of unionists called the Molly Malones...

Oh... I'd assumed you named her after the battle... like symbolically.

Don't you just love those random awesomes?

Nope. Just like the name Moira. We don't exactly study Ancient Irish history in the States. I can tell you far, far too much about 19th Century America, however....but that's because I got my degree in it. We get one year of World History for every one year of American, and European History is an elective class.
And yes, I love random awesomes...

We don't really study ancient Ireland either... but I did take a course in Folklore and Fairytale. Lots of Irish history comes up when you read those sorts of things. But it is a cool coincidence.

I know far more about modern Ireland and the Anglo-Irish conflict than I want to. In fact, I have blocked most of it from my mind because it depresses me. I'd rather think of faeries and Cuchulain when I think of Ireland, thank you.
