My character isn't a soldier, so he/she might have some things to say about trying to have him/her strung up for insubordination.

If your character is a member of the LSO, even in a non-combatant role, he/she is in a military organization and, thus, would have to follow orders from Regan or it does count as insubordination. If your character is a civilian and does stupid shit like not listen to Regan? Well, Regan'd probably be OK with that, but wouldn't risk herself or her men to keep him/her alive.
Did I mention Regan is a really vicious person?

Darling, she's just like the grown up version of Mia. We understand you.
So Taran.1 (I need to stop reusing names) is like your go-to-guy for gadgets and gizmos and stuff. He's also trained as a sniper if I recall? And Phoenix is a computer geek that's kind of at Taran's beck-and-call??? Does that work. Phoenix being a girl that's a boy.

Mia if her idealism and trust are stripped from her....yeah. Something like that.
Then just make sure your character stays out of Regan's way and does something useful. And doesn't try to undermine the war, of course, because then your character becomes a liability...

Yeah. An Older Mia. Seeeee. =)
I find it funny how you channel your characters voice sometimes btw.

Mia won't necessarily lose her idealism. Laras might try, but I think it's too much a part of her. Regan never had idealism. Just necessity. And fear.
I try not to do it, but I guess acting out my additions has had an effect on me.

Where would be the fun in that?

In not channeling my characters or in staying out of Regan's way? I assure you, she has no compunction having your character locked in a room to keep him/her out of her way.
Damn it. That sounded like Regan...
Now I'm all self-conscious about it.

Yeah, you're bullying me to make a useful character. Shame on you.
Now my character will just have to wander off and die somewhere. Le sigh.

Sorry...Regan, like Mia, has her own voice. It's rather...well, powerful. Firm, not feminine in the least, with a serious lack of humor. Constrained, because she keeps so much of herself controlled and hidden from view, but one used to having people listen. A voice as reliable as a judge, really.
And mean. Mia keeps staring at her with wide eyes, and Laras just keeps blinking at her.

Regan barely treats HERSELF like a person...

After being a slave and treated like an object, I don't think he/she will appreciate it from the humans too.

Everyone else will be nice to him/her, I promise. Regan is just...very dedicated. She's the kind of person that wins the war and then drinks herself to death because she has no idea how to live in a world at peace.

Phoenix will sympathise too since he was very nearly captured but hid amongst a tonne of dead bodies in order to escape.

Yeah, literally everyone else will be like "You want peace with the Alius? More power to you." but we'll continue to kill them where they are. Keep in mind the LSO only targets high priority figures. We don't go out murdering masses of Alius civilians. Truth be told we're not terrorists, there is a terrorist organization that wants to create their own state within the Alius Empire called the Mak Shi who are also enemies of the LSO but not the primary target. They're more of an annoyance. They're a bunch of raiders, bandits, and guerrillas. They're also based a little bit on the Taliban.
Oh also forgot. One of my military consultant friends Chrispy and I have talked a lot about this story before cause he really likes the concept. There's basically a Ghost Faction of the LSO that they don't realize is still there. It's from an old base that got assaulted and overrun near when Astor died. The Operatives stations there broke cover to help Regan and company retreat back to HQ and were presumed dead when the station was blown up. In reality they managed to retreat underground into a bunker and are running a sort of Shadow Ops thing from there and haven't been able to regain contact with the main branch of the LSO since.
Oh right. Again, did you guys want me to start this or what?

I want to be part of it but there's no way I can deal with more right now. I'm already struggling trying to find enough time for the ones we have and the one I'd like to start but hell knows if that'll happen.

I manage to keep up. I mean...there's only about...10 or so that are active, and ours are slow-moving campfires because we think about what we write...

When it piles up on my turn and people start asking me why I haven't added yet... I start thinking about dropping some. If I can't keep up, what's the point?
